Hiring someone who wasn’t qualified or experienced in the areas that I needed support in. Hiring the first person I spoke to out of desperation! I’ve made the mistakes and learned from them, so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did.

So here are the steps to hiring a new team member or assistant: 1. Make a wishlist of what you want that person to do. 2. Get over the mindset that you won’t find someone. 3. Write a job description. 4. Share the ad. 5. Interview multiple candidates. 6. Set your chosen candidates a trial task, or employ them on a trial basis. 7. Give them feedback. P.S. If it’s not a good fit, let them go! And sooner, rather than later!
