Your coach doesn't know what's best for you - you do

I've worked with many coaches, consultants and experts over the years as a client and most of the time it's been a wonderful experience.

The times when it hasn't been so wonderful are the times when I follow the coach's guidance - when I know better.

Hiring experts for a second opinion, information and to help you to get to the next level in any area is commendable but don't let other people's ideas, thoughts and agenda's take precedent above your own.

When you follow someone else's advice when you know it's ultimately not right for you no one wins.

The “coach” has a client who isn't getting the results they want and the “client” feels annoyed from not listening to themselves when they knew better.

It's lose lose for everyone.

That's why we always tell our clients that if we are giving advice that doesnt feel right - say something!

Follow your intution.

Ask if there is another way (there always is).

At the end of the day it's your life - you're the one who needs to live with the consequences of what you do and don't do.
